I’ve often thought if there were just 4 or 5 of me I could get everything done in the world that I am interested in doing. If only!!
I am so many things. On www.jennyknappenberger.com I will be sharing many of these things in one place and here, hopefully, you will get some idea of my artistic side. I hope if you are stopping by as a teacher that you will find many helpful resources to use in your classroom when trying to engage your students through art integration.
First and foremost, I am an artist and have been since I was a young child. I love hearing my mom tell me that when I was young I would rather draw and color then watch T.V. –that hasn’t changed! On my website you’ll see paintings, drawings, and other fine art that I’ve either done in the past or am working on now. Please be sure you follow me on Pinterest to see all the collaborative boards and most of all if you are a teacher be sure you follow my Art in the Classroom and Hands on Learning board as this is a board that I designed for you!
I am also an art teacher. I spent two happy and productive years at a middle school…and was so fortunate to be selected as a teacher of the year. Here is my embarrassing video…
Now I work at an elementary school. I’ve embraced being an elementary art teacher…and I love it more and more all the time. My online store is focused around integrating art in the classroom for elementary and middle school teachers. Teachers tell me all the time how useful these resources are. I hope you will find something useful as well. Start by looking at all the FREE resources I have!
I, too, am a ballroom dancer. I love teaching ballroom dance and did so for 8 years in Charlottesville, Virginia. On my website you’ll see posts, video’s etc showcasing my life as a dancer. I started dancing ballet in 7th grade when I saw my little sister perform at her recital and one of the numbers was to a Paula Abdul song…I was hooked every since! I’m super happy to announce that we now have a 500 sq. foot dance studio in our home. I have been enojoying working with wedding couples recently and am so happy to get to teach dance part-time.
And I am a seamstress…haha…well not really! I just love sewing. I make aprons mostly and for fun (and since I have nothing else to do) I sometimes re-cover perfectly fine chairs in my home, make curtains that would be cheaper to buy, make my daughter Easter outfits recycled from her old Christmas outfits…well, you get the point…I love making stuff!!!
Be sure to sign up on my home page to get notification about new blog posts. I am forever curating wonderful ideas and creating useful resources for you, my colleagues and friends!
Now, back to work…
